About the Electric Scooter
Sample scooter specifications

Electric mopeds are 100% electric scooters... you simply plug them in to an ordinary plug socket to charge, in the same way as you would your laptop or mobile phone.

Before purchasing, ensure your electric scooter is 100% road legal in the UK, many are the electric moped equivalent of a 50cc moped and because they're eco friendly your road tax is FREE & the electric scooter is congestion charge exempt!

This powerful electric moped is built with a 1500w motor, restricted to 30mph (the electric equivalent of a 50cc petrol scooter) it can typically travel between 20-30 miles on a full charge, depending on weather, terrain & incline.

Motor Size: 1500 watt brushless

Continuous Mileage: 20 - 30 miles

Maximum Speed: 30mph (restricted)

Battery: 48v 36ah silicon gel

Charging time: 6 - 8 hours for a full charge

Brake System: F / Disc R / Drum

Dimensions: 1890*660*1020mm

It's not a toy!

How many times have you heard your parents say it... each and every Christmas, the minute they handed over what was very clearly a toy... "now be careful, it isn't a toy".

Scooters vary in weight and quality. 50cc equivalent electric scooters are very definitely not a toy, but that doesn't mean they're not ridiculously good fun to drive and far be it from us to spoil your fun!

Customers are surprised at how substantial electric scooters feel. Many are full size adult mopeds and in actual fact don't look any different from the big, sporty moped scooters you see driving around. And since they are electric there's no oily chain or smokey exhaust to contend with.

A little about us...

With rising petrol prices we decided to compile an online resource for a cheaper, eco friendly transport alternative.

A friend studying abroad told us about his electric scooter. Immediately images of a flimsy kids toy or mobility vehicle sprang to mind!

The guy in question emailed across a picture of his leccy moped. Far from cheap and cheerful we were looking at a fullsize adult scooter. These scooters are becoming more widely available in the UK.

Whether you are an individual looking to purchase a single scooter, a company looking for further information on B2B or a trader / dealer needing assistance to import and register new electric scooters with the DVLA, we can help.

The Zippe Electric Scooter is covered by a manufacturers parts warranty, details of which can be found here. You can also find links to electric scooter forums, troubleshooting guides and replacement parts resources here.

We can help register your scooter

If you have purchased an electric scooter we can help to register your bike with the DVLA. Registering your electric moped with the DVLA means it will be possible to drive it legally on a UK road.

Request that your electric scooter is PDI checked before you take delivery. This means that brakes, lights and tyre pressures will all be checked to ensure it arrives in full working order.

An unregistered scooter will arrive without a license plate. You need to register your electric scooter with the DVLA before it can be legally issued with a number plate and driven in the UK.
